An area for publishers to spruik their latest?

Would you consider having a 'publishers' area where publishers could spruik some of the book that don't automatically jump to the front of the list? All those fabulous gems that get left by the wayside - or is that too commercial? It might be a nice way to mix things up though, and mean you really would have the absolute latest books available.

It would also be helpful to see lists from others via lists...for instance, NPR just had a list of the best overlooked teen books of the year. Anybody can get to the New York Times Bestseller list, but perhaps the more unusual.

Along this same vein, it might also be useful to have books to National Book Award winners, Nobel Prize winning books, Pulitzer Prize winners, etc.

As I read, I frequently get on jaunts of genres...lately, I've been reading a lot of teen fiction. These lists might be helpful to not only discover something different and interesting, but also might intrigue one to try a new genre.

I agree, lists are an excellent idea. By using the tag featue you can create lists (see Oprah's Book Club), however I see that a more formalised list structure would be very handy. I'll put it into our development team.

Sounds like a fantastic idea. I'll have to start gathering ideas from publishers on how this could work :)
