No Country For Old Men

I liked the arthouse feel of the movie the- "hero" was flawed, made some bad decisions and didn't triumph in the end. It was a violent movie (haven't read the book) but I got the feeling it was a comment on the reality of a returned Vet. The skewed sence of normality resulting from participation in nationally endorsed conflicts- who else would have taken the money & believed they could survive.

Hi Keifer,
Just completed "No Country for Old men".
It's all violence, murder & greed... definitely right out of my comfort zone. Something I would never normally choose for myself, but thanks for introducing it.
Isn't it really just a modern 'wild west shoot 'em dead' or have I missed something?

Hey, welcome to the Great Books club. Don't worry, you won't be stuck reading Shakespere or Locke all of the time. Our first book will be "No Country For Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy when I get the site all figured out.

Talk to you soon.

Keifer
